from Peace & Social Concerns: Our next ‘Family Promise’ shift is the week of 07-14 July 2013. The Day Center, which provides a place for participants to use the computer, do laundry, and rest, needs volunteer staffers to provide an ad hoc presence during the day. It has been relocated from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church to the house next door to the First Lutheran Church, on South Avenue across from Community Hospital. Dean Thompson is stepping down from the directorship of the program, and they are seeking someone to replace him. When Nancy returns after 19 July, she will organize an orientation for any Friends who wish to join the crew helping out with this program.
